Be a literacy volunteer

Help an adult speak English

Literacy Volunteers Fox Valley needs volunteers to help adults learn English. A four-session tutor training workshop will be held from 6:30pm to 9:00pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays October 9, 11, 16, and 18 at the St. Charles Public Library.

Literacy Volunteers Fox Valley provides texts, study material, and training so anyone can be a tutor. You don't need a second language or teaching experience to qualify.

Once you are trained, you will meet with one student for one hour each week. We arrange convenient, comfortable, and safe public locations for tutoring. If you can spare one hour each week, we can fit tutoring into your schedule. From week to week, you'll see your student get more comfortable and fluent in English and you will know you are making a big difference in their life.

You will get guidance and support when you need it. Experienced tutors are glad to share what they have learned.

Register at or call/text Peg at 630-584-4428.
