Description:

Literacy Volunteers Fox Valley needs volunteers to help adults learn English. A tutor training workshop will be held from 6:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Mondays and Wednesdays, January 22, 24, 29, and 31 at the St. Charles Public Library.

Literacy Volunteers Fox Valley provides texts, study material, and training so that anyone can be a tutor. You don't need a second language or a teaching background to qualify.

Once you are trained, you meet with your student for one hour each week. We arrange convenient, comfortable, and safe public locations for tutoring. If you can spare one hour each week, we can fit tutoring into your schedule.

From week to week, you'll see your student get more comfortable and fluent in English and you will know you are making a big difference in their lives. You will get guidance and support when you need it and experienced tutors are glad to share what they have learned.
