"Lighting the Chalice" Book Release Party

The Unitarian Universalist Society of Geneva (UUSG) cordially invites the community to join in celebrating the beginning of a new church year with a book release party. "Lighting the Chalice" is a celebration of the 175th anniversary of UUSG. After an overview of the church’s rich history—it’s founders, struggles and growth, the story focuses on the last quarter century. Chapters describe the church’s ministries and how they evolved into the 21st century, as well as the challenges of maintaining a sanctuary built by its founding father. "Lighting the Chalice" is edited by UUSG’s Don Brod, with contributions from the UUSG Heritage Team. The book can be purchased at the event or on for $10. The book release party offers the opportunity to meet the authors, take home autographed copies, and enjoy refreshments and (anniversary) cake! Unitarian Universalism is a diverse, welcoming faith, committed to spiritual growth and social justice. The chalice is the symbol of the faith and lit for each service. The free event, open to the public, will take place on Sunday, September 17, at 7pm.
