Geneva Women’s Club to Distribute Meals to Older Adults

Geneva Women’s Club (GWC) and the Kane Senior Council are partnering to distribute meals to older adults during the COVID-19 pandemic. Eligible adults should be Kane County residents over the age of 60 and not already receiving meals from Meals on Wheels. There is no income requirement.

Eligible adults can pick up 5 frozen meals prepared by a local catering company on Wednesday, May 26th between 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Northwestern Medicine Field, home of the Kane County Cougars in Geneva. 

Interested recipients can register for this service by calling 630-290-5914. COVID-19 safety precautions will be in place at the distribution.

GWC President Lisa Safran says that she “couldn’t be more proud of our members. These creative and generous women have found so many ways to give to those in need in our communities and doing it safely during a pandemic.” 

Safran adds that “we have successfully completed charitable projects for Mutual Ground, Living Well Cancer Resource Center, Tri City Health Partnership just to name a few. When an opportunity to came up to support our senior community, we were excited and grateful to be able to partner with Kane County Senior Citizen Council to make it happen.”

Geneva Women’s Club is celebrating 81 years of philanthropy and service, dedicated to improving the lives of women, children and families in the Fox Valley area. GWC supports 8 core charities including CASA, Fox Valley Hands of Hope, Lazarus House, Mutual Ground, Tri-City Family Services, Living Well Cancer Resource Center, Tri-City Health Partnership, and Geneva School District 304.
