New Christmas Tree Planted at Kane County Courthouse Front Lawn

Geneva - The Geneva Chamber was pleased that Chamber member Wasco Nursery & Garden Center in St. Charles planted Geneva's new Christmas tree on Tuesday, August 13.

It is on the northside of the Kane County Courthouse front lawn, located in downtown Geneva. The hole was opened around 8am, and the tree was installed around 11am.

Several bad weather situations in late fall 2018 and early winter 2019 caused great damage to the 50-foot Christmas tree that had been there since the 1980’s. For safety reasons, the tree had to be removed.

“Thanks to generous donors, we are thrilled that a new Christmas tree will soon be planted," said Laura Rush, Communications Manager for Geneva Chamber of Commerce, prior to the tree's planting.

"We look forward to watching this 20 ft. tree grow to be even taller than its predecessor. To add to the inaugural lighting of this tree on December 6, the Chamber has some surprises up their holiday sleeves.”

A ribbon cutting will take place in the near future.
