North Aurora - More than 50 dogs, cats, puppies and kittens will be available for adoption at Anderson Animal Shelter’s North Aurora Adoption Center, located next to Pet Supplies Plus on 180 N. Randall Road in North Aurora.

The event will be held from 11am-5pm, Saturday, June 22. All newly adopted furry friends will be able to go home with their families the same day.

“We really value our partnership with Pet Supplies Plus. Over 700 dogs and cats were adopted out of our North Aurora Adoption Center attached to Pet Supplies Plus in North Aurora. With so many animals available for adoption at the upcoming adoption event, there’s sure to be at least one that will capture your heart,” said Bob Geniusz, manager of the Adoption Center.

All animals are spayed or neutered, up-to-date on vaccinations, dewormed and microchipped. Each adoption comes with a free vet exam from a participating clinic and one month of free pet health insurance. For a list of available pets, visit Anderson online at andersonanimalshelter.org. You can also register to participate in Anderson’s Ride4Animals on-site, at the adoption event.

The free flowing motorcycle ride, held on June 23, the day after the adoption event, will have 4 stops that include hands-on and unique pet experiences, photo opportunities, food and fun at each stop.

The Ride4Animals, which starts in North Aurora and ends in Elgin, is a fundraiser to help save more animals in need and improve the reach of their programs such as Anderson’s Military Veterans Program, which was created in December of 2018. Register online and find out more about the event at ride4animals.org.
