Batavia - The Residents’ Association at The Holmstad recently showed their appreciation to a group of high school students who are employed at the senior living community by awarding them with scholarships.

Six students, all employed in dining services, received $1,800 each to help in pursuing their education beyond high school. The scholarships were awarded at the annual Awards Dinner held at the community. Money for the scholarships comes from proceeds of the annual Bazaar and also from Paul Bergeson Memorial Scholarship Fund. Mr. Bergeson was a resident at The Holmstad and was a teacher, coach and Athletic Director at St. Charles High School.
