Northern Illinois - Ready for on-demand Thin Mints® and Samoas®? Local Girl Scouts will begin selling their world famous Girl Scout Cookies at area locations from now until March 17.

Cookie Booths are the final phase of the Girl Scout Cookie Program and allow customers to buy Girl Scout Cookies through direct sales to the public. All locations accept cash and checks payable to Girl Scouts. Select Girl Scout troops even have the ability to accept payments via credit card.

Eight delicious varieties of cookies will be on sale for only $5 a box. Fans can now find nearby Girl Scout Cookie Booths by visiting girlscoutcookies.org or using the official Girl Scout Cookie Finder app, free on iOS and Android devices.

Girls have the opportunity to give back to their community through the Girl Scout Cookie Program with the Gift of Caring. Girls can choose from offering customers the chance to purchase cookies for the military or for a community organization designated by the troop.

Girl Scout Cookies this year include the iconic Thin Mints, crisp wafers covered in chocolaty coating and made with natural oil of peppermint, as well as Samoas, cookies coated in caramel, sprinkled with toasted coconut, and striped with a dark chocolaty coating. For the peanut butter fanatic, there’s Tagalongs®, cookies layered with peanut butter and covered with chocolate, or Do-si-Dos®, crunchy oatmeal sandwich cookies with creamy peanut butter filling. If you’re a traditionalist, you’ll want to try Trefoils®, a delicate-tasting shortbread, or the returning classic Girl Scout S’mores® which are graham sandwich cookies with creamy chocolate and marshmallowy filling. Sunny Savannah Smiles®, zesty lemon wedge cookies dusted with powdered sugar, and the gluten-free Toffee-tastic®, rich, buttery cookies with sweet, crunchy toffee bits, round out the mouthwatering lineup!

About Cookie Program Proceeds: Proceeds from the Girl Scout Cookie Program directly benefit girls in northern Illinois, supporting Girl Scout programs, camp scholarships, volunteer training, membership assistance and outreach programs. Each troop receives a portion of the proceeds as discretionary funds for troop activities and community service projects. In fact, the Girl Scout Cookie Program is one of the few youth-oriented programs in the country providing its participants the ability to decide how to direct the proceeds generated through their business activity.

About the Girl Scout Cookie Program: During Girl Scout Cookie season, each G.I.R.L. (Go-getter, Innovator, Risk-taker, Leader)™ sets out to sell delicious cookies while also building entrepreneurial and business skills that are imperative for leadership and future success. Almost 1 million Girl Scouts participate in the cookie program each year, generating nearly $800 million in sales during the average season. And all of the net revenue raised—100 percent of it—stays within the northern Illinois area.
Councils use cookie earnings to power astonishing experiences for girls through their programming, while girls and their troops decide how to invest in impactful community projects, personal enrichment opportunities, and more. Further, skills girls learn in the cookie program also influence later success: data shows more than half (57 percent) of Girl Scout alumnae in business say the cookie program was beneficial to skills they possess today, such as money management, goal-setting and public speaking.
