Fox Valley Newcomers and Neighbors Welcome New Residents to Events in January

Batavia, IL - Are you new to the area and looking for friendly, social groups? Come to the Fox Valley Newcomers and Neighbors Informational Open House on January 15 and their Luncheon on January 16. The events are open to anyone interested—male or female, single or married—all are encouraged to attend. 

The Informational Open House will be on Tuesday at Pal Joey's, 2030 Main St., Batavia, from 6:30-8pm. RSVP to Joyce Taylor, 331-222-7854, no later than January 9.

The Luncheon will be on Wednesday at Acquaviva Ristorante, 35 N. Water St., Batavia. Social time will start at 11:30am. Lunch will begin at 12pm. RSVP to Julie Ford by mailing a $25 check, made payable to FVNN, to 33 S. Barton Tr., Batavia. The check should arrive no later than January 9. Call Julie at 217-248-1075 for questions. 

The Luncheon program will feature Mayor of Batavia, Jeffery Schielke. Mayor Schielke has been mayor since 1981. He will talk to visitors about the past, present and future of Batavia. It has a rich history as the oldest city in Kane County. It is the hometown of such nationally known facilities as the Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory and Mooseheart, which houses the 101 year old home of the legendary "Child City of School of the Moose Lodge." Enjoy a delicious lunch while you learn more about the town. 

The menu will include a plated House Salad, Pasta with marinara sauce, Chicken Piccata with roasted potatoes and green beans and Sausage and Peppers. Entrees will be served family style. Tiramisu for dessert, coffee and soft drinks are included. A cash bar will available.
