Walk In Love Memorial Courtyard Now Open at The Holmstad

Dec 03, 2018 01:27PM ● By Hannah Ott

Batavia, IL - Monday, October 29 was a beautiful morning at The Holmstad where Batavia Mayor Jeffery Schielke gave a presentation on the history of Batavia and also a bit more about the history of The Holmstad.

Following the presentation, the Batavia Chamber of Commerce was honored to conduct a ribbon cutting for the new “Walk in Love” courtyard. The “Walk in Love” is a fundraiser at The Holmstad in which engraved tribute pavers can be purchased to create a lasting tribute to loved ones. The pavers will be installed in the courtyard just outside of the Town Center. Proceeds will go to the Benevolent Care Fund used for Holmstad residents, who through no fault of their own, outlive their resources. The fund helps them continue to live at the community. Those seeking more information about the tribute pavers may contact Amada Slaiher, Director of Development, at 630-879-4200.

In addition to Mayor Schielke, Government Offices Administrator Laura Newman was in attendance and The Holmsted was represented by Amanda Slaiher, Nicole Sickafoose, Dan Stegbauer and Chaplain Dan Anderson. Many residents also joined along with Chamber Ambassadors and members, Chamber President/CEO Holly Deitchman, Membership Development Specialist Margaret Perreault and Marketing and Special Events Coordinator Catherine Fitch.
