Citizen of the Year and Spirit of Batavia winners to be honored at Annual Inspire Awards

Batavia, IL - The Batavia Chamber of Commerce is thrilled to announce its 2018 Citizen of the Year and Spirit of Batavia Award winners. Both honorees will be celebrated at the 2019 Inspire Awards which will be held on Thursday, January 24 from 6-9pm. 

The Chamber is proud to announce Georgene O'Dwyer as its 2018 Citizen of the Year. Georgene has given back to the Chamber and Batavia through her work with the Batavia Historical Society and Depot Museum, Holy Cross Catholic Church and as a Batavia Chamber of Commerce Ambassador. Mayor Jeffery D. The Spirit of Batavia Award is going to Batavia United Way. Its work on the holiday Adopt A Family program always provides Christmas cheer to families in need. This year, Adopt A Family reached a new milestone with 120 families being adopted by 89 different sponsors. The group also funded 29 Kindergarten Enrichment Scholarships.
