Geneva, IL - Take a step back in time and see how the Illinois landscape has changed over the past 200 years, during an Illinois History Hike on November 3rd.

This program will begin at Creek Bend Nature Center and end at the Durant House within LeRoy Oakes Forest Preserve. During the walk, you’ll learn about the transformation of the prairies and woodlands from European settlement to today. At the Durant House Museum, docents will interpret 19th century life on the prairie. Additionally, back at Creek Bend Nature Center, there will be crafts and self-guided Illinois Bicentennial scavenger hunts throughout the afternoon.

The Illinois History Hike takes place on Saturday, November 3rd, from 10:30am-12pm at LeRoy Oakes Forest Preserve, 37W700 Dean St., St. Charles.

Advance registration is required for this all-ages program. Call (630) 444-3190 or email programs@kaneforest.com to register.
