Kane County Safety Coalition hosts Safety Day
Presented by Kane County Safety Coalition and the North Aurora Days Committee, Safety Day will be held at the Mooseheart Field House on Sat., Aug. 4, 10am–2pm. Join the fun as over 60 agencies participate in this educational and entertaining event for kids of all ages. Come watch exciting fire and rescue demonstrations and mingle with emergency crews. Come watch the North Aurora Emergency Vehicle Lights & Sirens Parade
The Emergency Vehicle Lights & Sirens Parade takes place Fri., Aug. 3, 6:30pm during North Aurora Days. 100+ emergency vehicles from all over the county participate in this community loved event. The parade will line up on Airport Rd. and head north on Rt. 31 to John St. west, on John St. to Willow Way, north on Willow Way to Oak St., west on Oak to Randall Rd., and south on Randall Rd. past the festival site at Clock Tower Plaza. northauroradays.org/events/emergency-vehicle-show
Register for the North Aurora Days Garage Sale
In conjunction with the North Aurora Days annual event, the village will be sponsoring a community-wide garage sale Thurs., Aug. 2–Sat., Aug. 4. Residents interested in participating should complete a garage sale registration form in order to have their address included on a garage sale map. Residents can participate on any or all of the days however, addresses listed on map will not list which specific days a resident is participating. Garage sales will be advertised in a local paper, and also on the North Aurora Days website and Facebook page. northauroradays.org/events/garage-sale/
36th annual North Aurora Days Pet Parade
The annual North Aurora Days Pet Parade is back! Sign-in, line-up and judging takes place from 10:30–11:50am Sun., Aug. 5 at the parking lot on the corner of Rt. 31 and Rt. 56. The parade leaves and heads across the bridge to Riverfront Park promptly at 12pm. The first 100 registrants receive a goody bag, refreshments, a participant ribbon and a certificate. 26 trophies will be awarded in 16 categories, plus 10 wild-card categories. Extended hours and a new partnership at the Aurora Regional Fire Museum
For the first time in over two years, the Aurora Regional Fire Museum is expanding its open hours. Summer at the Fire Museum runs through Labor Day. The Museum will now be open for visitors to tour and explore on Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays from 10am-4pm.
As part of this exciting expansion, the Aurora Regional Fire Museum is teaming up with the Aurora Area Interfaith Food Pantry for a special collaboration. This summer, any visitor that brings a non-perishable food item or contributes to the Aurora Food Pantry will receive one dollar off their admission to the Museum.

Fermilab Arts and Lecture Series continues
The Fermilab Arts and Lecture Series serves as an open door between Fermilab and neighboring communities by offering a diverse array of performing arts performances and lectures that celebrate the artistic and intellectual vision of the lab.
On Fri., Aug. 10, Wendy Chung, M.D., Ph.D., will give a lecture titled “What We Know About the Causes of Autism” in Fermilab’s Ramsey Auditorium. The lecture will explore how understanding the causes of autism can help to better understand the brain and behavior and develop better supports for individuals with autism.
