Jun 12, 2018 09:00AM

Batavia, IL: The Holmstad, a Covenant Retirement Community in Batavia, will be hosting an art show featuring the works of adults with intellectual disabilities from the Joshua Tree Community. The showing will be held in The Holmstad's Town Center Gallery with displays that include a variety of art mediums ranging from photography and painting to ceramics and quilt work.  Participants at the Joshua Tree Community, who meet each day at St. Mark's Church in Geneva, have been preparing for the art show over the past year.

“This promises to be an exciting event for the Fox Valley community and we’re pleased that we’re able to help in showcasing the artwork of these individuals from the Joshua Tree Community,” said Amanda Gosnell, The Holmstad Executive Director. “Our Town Center Gallery has featured many local artists and this showing promises to be worth the time to come and see.”

The opening reception will include the artists, their families, volunteers from the Joshua Tree Community and residents from The Holmstad. The Joshua Tree Community art showing will run from June 15 through August 10.
