St. Charles Fine Art Show celebrates 20th anniversary year

ST. CHARLES, IL (April 23, 2018) – Once again thousands of creative and beautiful pieces of artwork will grace the downtown district when the St. Charles Fine Art Show returns to town Memorial Day Weekend.  The show opens at 10:00 AM on Saturday, May 26th along Riverside Drive with over 100 artists, whose work was juried for acceptance into the show.  This year’s show is sponsored by STC Capital Bank with branches in St. Charles, South Elgin and Geneva—and runs Saturday, May 26th 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM and Sunday, May 27th 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM rain or shine.  

This award winning show features painting, sculpture, photography, glass, wood, jewelry and other media, all of which draws thousands of visitors to downtown St. Charles to both view and purchase the work of artists from across the entire US.         

There will also be live musical entertainment throughout the show, sponsored by BMO Harris, which will be located on the corner of 2nd and Walnut Street.  Afternoon Logic, Paul & Jay Rock Duo, Dennis O’Brien, The Jack Macklin Jazz Quartet, Drew Clausen and David Chiriboga and Hugo Salcedo Spanish Guitar Duo are scheduled to perform as well as others.  

The Children’s Activity Tent, Sponsored by Dayspring Pediatric Dentistry and presented by Erin Livermore’s All Things Art Studio this year, will feature multiple art activities for children and adults.  

This year, in celebration of the 20th Annual year, there will be a Paint the Pavement Chalk Festival on the west side of the river along First Street featuring 4 professional chalk artists and even more community groups painting the pavement with various artistic talents.

Rest your feet and ride the downtown Historic Trolley tour, sponsored by Gerald Kia, North Aurora, which will run from 11:00 to 5:00 Saturday and Sunday. Docents will narrate the free 30-minute tour highlighting many historic homes and building along the way.
