DOWNTOWN AURORA - For the last two years, the Aurora Regional Fire Museum hosted a discussion during On the Table, sponsored by the Chicago Community Trust. The discussions have touched on a variety of issues surrounding the role that institutions, businesses, and restaurants play in creating a more unified community.

On the Table is about sitting down over a meal or cup of coffee and discussing our communities with those who are seeking to make them stronger. “It’s a conversation about what we can do individually and collectively to answer the question “What will we do to create a stronger community?”” said museum director Brian Failing.

This year, the fire museum at 53 N. Broadway hosts the event from 9 to 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, May 8.

On the Table is a free event sponsored by Aurora Downtown’s Business, Attraction, and Retention Committee (BAR). There is no agenda outside of a discussion with friends, colleagues, and neighbors.

“It is a very exciting time to be in Aurora – many new businesses are opening, museums and cultural institutions are thriving, and the city is embracing a new Downtown Master Plan,” Failing said.
