Batavia Public School District 101 is being honored by the College Board with placement on its 8th Annual AP District Honor Roll for increasing access to AP course work while simultaneously maintaining or increasing the percentage of students earning scores of 3 or higher on AP Exams. It's the fifth time BPS101 has made it on the prestigious AP District Honor Roll.
BPS101 is one of 447 school districts in the United States and Canada named to the 8th Annual AP District Honor Roll, and just one of 23 school districts in Illinois.
Since the 2008-09 school year, BHS went from four to 16 AP course offerings, and students are increasingly taking advantage of them:

BPS101 Preschool Open HouseJan. 24—Lottery Registration Now Open!
Families with children who will be turning three and four years old by Sept. 1, 2018, and who currently reside in the boundaries of Batavia Public School District 101 are eligible to participate in a lottery system for open spots at the BPS101 Preschool at the Early Childhood Center in the 2018-19 school year. The lottery-based system replaces the fee-based system, thus eliminating the monthly fee for community students. Families are, however, responsible for the District’s standard registration fee.
To learn more about the program and the lottery, parents are encouraged to attend the BPS101 Preschool Open House on Wed., Jan. 24, 2018, from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m., at the Early Childhood Center located within Alice Gustafson Elementary School at 905 Carlisle Rd., Batavia.
To register for the 2018-19 lottery, parents need to complete the Letter of Intent, which can be found at BPS101.net, and return it to the BPS101 Preschool at the Early Childhood Center (located in Alice Gustafson Elementary School) anytime between now and Jan. 31, 2018.
“We’re now heading into our third year of a tuition-free program,” said Dr. Brad Newkirk, BPS101’s Chief Academic Officer. “Lifting the financial barrier opens the door to preschool to a broader range of students, which represents the economic diversity of our District.”
The BPS101 Preschool offers a language-rich, purposefully designed learning environment that’s based in exploration and discovery. The academic and social-emotional curriculum is aligned with the District’s K-5 curriculum and Illinois Early Learning and Development Standards. BPS101 Preschool teachers hold both general education and special education teaching certificates and have earned the English as a Second Language (ESL) Endorsement.
Students must be potty-trained by the first day of class.
Enrolling a child in kindergarten this fall?
Register for BPS101 Kindergarten Preview!
Batavia Public School District 101 strongly encourages families of incoming kindergarten students to participate in Kindergarten Preview on Thursday, March 1, 2018.
Kindergarten Preview is a one-hour session for children entering kindergarten in fall 2018 (must be turning 5 on or before Sept. 1, 2018). At Kindergarten Preview, children participate in activities as a small group, observed by teachers and parents. The preview is an opportunity to observe a sample of a child’s fine-motor, cognitive, speech, and language skills.
To register your child(ren) for Kindergarten Preview, visit www.bps101.net/kindergarten-preview. Please schedule a Kindergarten Preview session at the school within your current school boundary. Families with children who speak primarily Spanish should consider selecting the 10 a.m. session at H.C. Storm elementary school.
Please note: Every effort will be made to accommodate your scheduling
preferences; however, final session times will be determined by overall
response. Once you have completed the appropriate Kindergarten Preview online
registration form, you will receive confirmation of your scheduled time in late
February. Please contact the principal at your child’s home school if it is
impossible for you to attend Kindergarten Preview.
