Batavia, IL – Fox Valley Ballet, a 501c3
organization, is proud to present The Fox Valley Nutcracker on November 25 and 26
at the Batavia
Fine Arts Centre. Continuously described as “the best Nutcracker in the Fox
Valley area,” the performance showcases professional dancers from Joffrey
Ballet, including Elivelton Tomazi and Valeriia Chaykina along with Chicago’s premiere ballet company, Ballet 5:8 and local dancers
ages 5 through adult from 20 different dance studios in the western suburbs. This beloved holiday classic features lavish sets,
festive costumes, dazzling special effects, and beautiful dancing set to
Tchaikovsky's original score.
“Our biggest goal this year was to bring together the large community of many talented young dancers, and we did just that,” said Ashlie Andersen, the Artistic Director of the Fox Valley Nutcracker. “We pride ourselves with bringing an elaborate, upscale production to the western suburbs of Chicago that includes everything from moving sets, aerial work, and professional guest performers. The production this year will include additions to their sets, flying effects and some special surprises for the audience to enjoy!”
The Fox Valley Nutcracker does more than entertain; they give back to the community and those less fortunate. Characters from the show go out and visit the pediatric department at Central DuPage Hospital in Winfield, IL, and hand out gifts to the children there. They also perform and cook meals for the families at the Ronald McDonald House.
“We still have many opportunities for businesses to sponsor the production,” said Andersen. “Because we are a non-profit, we rely on the generosity of donors to bring this spectacular performance to the community. We are grateful to our partners and welcome the support.”
Performances will be held at the Batavia Fine Arts Centre on Saturday, November 25, at 2:00 and 7:00 p.m. and on Sunday, November 26, at 2:00 p.m. Regular tickets for adults run from $25-35 and tickets for children 10 and under are $20-30. VIP seating is also available in the first three rows of the orchestra section for only $40 and include a photo op with characters after the show.
