Community garage sale to benefit Anderson Animal Shelter

Jul 28, 2017 12:28PM ● By Ben Scott

The Learning Experience (TLE) in Aurora, at 1555 Mesa Lane, will hold a garage sale to benefit Anderson Animal Shelter on Saturday, July 29 from 10am to 3pm. Clothes, shoes, books, housewares, outdoor items, baby items, pet items, Christmas decorations and more will be priced to sell.

TLE's mascot, Bubbles the Elephant will make an appearance. Face-painting will also be available for children.

“Philanthropy is part of our curriculum,” said Kasey Swanson at TLE. “We teach our students the importance of being contributing members of society and how to make a positive impact on the world by investing time in worthy causes. Our business manager and center director are rescue dog moms themselves so they are very connected to this cause.”

This is TLE's first garage sale, and the staff plans to make it an annual event. Fully 100% of the proceeds will be donated to the shelter.

“We are so grateful for groups like The Learning Experience,” said Holly Alcala, Director of Development. “We are a publically and community supported nonprofit organization and do not receive any government funding. Fundraisers such as this help us continue providing programs and services to animals in need and our community.”

Questions regarding the sale can be directed to Kasey Swanson at The Learning Experience by phone at 630-692-0550 or email at
