Charles Dance Company Team, a program of the St. Charles Park District, is
thrilled to be hosting this year’s Illinois Park District Dance Conference State
Competition for 15 teams with an estimated 500 athletes. The event will be held
on Sunday, April 23 at Wredling Middle School, 1200 Dunham Road
in St. Charles.
Many local dancers will be competing. This event is the culmination of the entire dance season. Solo performers include Audrina Colon in jazz and Allison Cole in lyrical dance. Duets include Cole and Nikki Macey in jazz and Stefani Paladino and Emily Czajkowski in lyrical dance. There will be one trio performance by Emma Englehart, Lauren Kamysz and Natasha Keisler in lyrical dance.
“All athletes have worked extremely hard over the course of this past season to improve their routines, said Rosie Fasching, Dance Supervisor. It should be a great event and it will be exciting to see each performance shine!”
This all day event begins with the first warm-ups kicking off at 8am and the last performance scheduled for 6pm. The schedule is filled with performances that include cheer, baton, poms and dance.
The Illinois Park District Dance Conference was founded in 1980, as a means to provide an alternative recreational gymnastics competition to local Parks and Recreational gymnastics and dance programs. There are currently more than 20 area Park Districts participating in the conference divisions.
