The Geneva Women's Club will be awarding the first Allison Thomas Scholarship of $1000 to a Fox Valley-Tri Cities area mom to support her dreams of pursuing an education that will allow her to better provide for herself and her family.
This scholarship is named after a former member who volunteered for over 14 years with the Geneva Women's Club. While Allison Thomas volunteered her time to her community, she also struggled through a life-changing event. She chose to return to school to recertify as an Illinois educator. Life was a struggle as she had to balance working three jobs and raising three boys alone. The Geneva Women's Club recognizes that there are other women who have similar challenges and wants to help these women attain the education they need to succeed.
