Therapists Amy and Matt Goles celebrated the opening of their new office with a ribbon cutting ceremony Oct. 7.

The Batavia Chamber of Commerce recently celebrated the ribbon cutting ceremony with Mayor Jeffery Schielke and owners of Prairie Wellness Counseling Center, Amy and Matt Goles on Fri., Oct. 7. Prairie Wellness Counseling Center is your place for wellness, providing adolescent, individual, couples and family counseling to the Fox Valley community. Prairie Wellness Counseling Center is located at 12 W. Wilson St., Batavia.

Elderday Center received a grant from the Community Foundation of the Fox River Valley which will bring enhanced technology and new furnishings to for clients.


Elderday Center, a local nonprofit adult day program in Batavia, has accepted a generous $10,000 grant from the Community Foundation of the Fox River Valley for the purchase of furnishings, enhanced technology for clients, and office equipment. These additions to Elderday’s programming will provide the senior citizen program participants with enriched technological activities and environmental improvements to stay current with technology trends. 630-761-9750,

The Batavia Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate the five year anniversary and new office remodel of Nick Ninedorf—Edward Jones on Mon., Oct. 10. Nick Ninedorf’s successful business is located at 812 N. Randall Rd. in Batavia.


The Herrington Inn & Spa is proud to announce Jeffery Potter as its new executive chef. Chef Potter has extensive upscale culinary experience, which includes country clubs, restaurants and most recently the Hotel Arista in Naperville. Chef Potter solidified his devotion to cooking during a stint with former White House executive Chef Pierre Chambrin. “Chef Chambrin not only helped to teach me how to be innovative while still incorporating classical preparation methods, he also instilled in me the philosophy to never compromise quality and the importance of attention to detail,” stated Potter.

The Geneva Business Book Club is Nov. 2. Please join this monthly meeting from 6–7:30pm for business education and masterminding. A monthly business book is chosen and the focus is on applying the concepts and lessons to daily work culture and activities. The meetings at 318 Coffeehouse often include local authors.

Open to the public, Pitch and Catch offers 25N members an opportunity to present their business plan, new idea, or sales pitch to an audience of mentors, advisers, entrepreneurs and you! Pitchers prepare a 5-minute presentation and engage in 20 minutes of feedback and questioning. 25N members gain insight into possible ways they can improve their businesses and gather real time feedback. The audience learns a great deal from the presentations. There is much to learn every month from these dynamic and diverse entrepreneurs. The next event takes place Nov. 15 at 25N Coworking from 4–6pm.

FONA International is sponsoring the Geneva Academic Foundations’ Chicago Steel Hockey Night on Nov. 11. FONA International is a local, family-owned creator and manufacturer of flavoring solutions. The company was recently listed on the Fortune Magazine’s list of the country’s best workplaces. The Geneva Academic Foundation raises funds for grants and scholarships for District 304 schools and students.

North Aurora

Outsource IT Solutions Group (OSG), a Naperville-based technology firm, has been certified as a Cisco Select Certified Partner. The company demonstrated a polished qualification to sell, install and support Cisco solutions throughout the country.

This official Cisco recognition makes OSG one of the few select partners in the area. As a partner, the consultancy must re-apply for certification each year, while remaining compliant throughout.

The Aurora Arts Center is one step closer to reality with the announcement of a tax credit award worth over $15 million from the Illinois Housing Development Authority (IHDA) toward the development of the center at the former Waubonsee Community College building downtown.

The $35 million project will be developed by The Community Builders Inc. and consist of a first-class restaurant as well as a Paramount School for the Performing Arts to serve Aurora’s growing artistic community. In addition, the Joseph Corporation building at 32 S. Broadway would receive a major capital upgrade.

The Aurora Chamber of Commerce will hold a ribbon cutting for the kick off of Homes for Heroes, Wed., Nov. 9 from 3:30–5pm. Homes for Heroes is a nationwide program created to give back to firefighting, police, medical, teaching and military professionals. Inspire Realty gives back 25% of their commission to anyone who falls into these categories.

Mayor Ray Rogina and the St. Charles Chamber of Commerce officially welcomed The Painted Vine Cellar to St. Charles on Sept. 20 with a ribbon cutting ceremony. Chamber staff, board members and representatives from the business community joined The Painted Vine Cellar owners John and Carolyn Kessler in celebrating the opening of their upscale paint and sip entertainment venue located at 1 W. Illinois in the heart of downtown.

PEAK Fitness is celebrating its one year anniversary on Nov. 4 with a cocktail party from 6–9pm. In the week leading up to the anniversary party they will have special events and give-aways each day. Fun Republic is a new St. Charles business that provides children with an indoor playground setting where they can slide, jump, learn, play and party safely with their friends and family.
