Rob Livingston, General Manager of Ace Hardware on State Street in Geneva, accepts a Lions’ “Unlock Your Heart” donation bucket from Lion Bill Minderman.
Geneva Lions Club, serving Geneva and St. Charles, has recently launched an additional
recycling program to collect brass, steel, tin and aluminum keys in an effort
to raise funds to support services to the hearing and visually impaired in
Illinois. Donation buckets will be located at various Geneva and St. Charles
businesses and schools.
The Geneva Lions and other Lions’ Clubs have long been known for their efforts in collecting and recycling used eyeglasses, however the recycling program also includes collection of keys, cell phones, ink cartridges and hearing aids. Donations are collected and sorted by club members and volunteers and are delivered to the Lions of Illinois Foundation. Funds raised are used by the Foundation to support programs such as the Infant Vision Screening and Infant Hearing Screening programs.
