Laub Construction, a Batavia based firm, has successfully been awarded the contract for Geneva CUSD-2016 District Wide Capital Improvements Project. The Batavia Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon cutting ceremony with Mayor Schielke and Michael Lamplough, owner of Fox Valley Aerial Imagery on Wed., May 11. The ceremony was filmed using a drone. Brent Brodeski, chief executive officer for Savant Capital Management in Geneva, has been named to Barron’s 2016 Top Financial Advisor List. For the third year in a row, Brodeski has landed a spot among the top financial advisors in the state of Illinois.
A luncheon and ribbon cutting ceremony were held on Thurs., June 9 for the opening of Walgreens new 14,500 square-foot facility at 122 W. Wilson St. The new Walgreens is a stand-alone store with a drive-thru prescription lane.
The Batavia Chamber of Commerce held its first Legislative Forum on June 13 at the City Council Chambers. Local government members were in attendance. Economic Development Consultant Chris Aiston presented on upcoming business developments and plans in Batavia. The next legislative forum is scheduled for Aug. 8.
Past Basket, Inc., a Geneva based luxury consumer goods company, has announced the name change of its popular kitchen design division. Past Basket Design is now “PB Kitchen Design,” the new name distinguishing their design firm from the brand’s founding namesake—Past Basket. The Geneva Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon cutting for Geneva Academic Foundation’s Viking Plaza dedication ceremony at Geneva High School. Bricks can be purchased through the Geneva Academic Foundation (GAF) as a fundraiser for that organization. The inaugural purchased bricks were unveiled at the ceremony.
The Herrington Inn & Spa has added Herrington Plaza, a new outdoor venue located on the Fox River between the Herrington Inn and Spa and its banquet facility. The property was purchased from the City of Geneva, and the site has been improved to showcase dramatic river views for a unique outdoor venue. It is unlike any other event facility in the Fox River Valley, with its combination of an outdoor riverfront setting and its expansive capacity to accommodate a 60 by 30-foot tent and serve up to 200 guests. Advocate Dreyer announces the arrival of Amelia Weigt, APN/CNP, who has joined Advocate Dreyer as a provider within the Advocate Dreyer Center for Pain Management department. Ms. Weigt received her Master of Science in Nursing specializing in Adult-Gerontology Primary Care at Rush University in Chicago. Ms. Weigt will see patients at the Highland location, and has special interest in geriatrics, nutrition, primary care and therapeutic exercise.
The Aurora Regional Chamber of Commerce will hold a Fox Valley Networking Professionals group Thurs., July 28 from 8–9:30am at Pomegranate Restaurant, 55 S. Recently, more than 35 commercial real estate brokers from five brokerages around the area gathered in the council chambers for an interactive tour of available properties around town. This is the third year the city has hosted a brokers tour, which provides an opportunity for brokers to share information about commercial properties they represent in St. Charles.
