Windmill City Festival entertains with live music
The Windmill City Festival runs from Thurs., July 7–Sun., July 10. A variety of musical acts will perform throughout the three and a half days.

an evening of Shakespeare in the Park
The annual Shakespeare in the Park play takes place at 6pm on Sat., July 16, at Island Park in Geneva. The Midsummer Theater Troupe brings the laughs and the plays are shortened to 90 minutes, making this an outing that’s fun and appropriate for the whole family. Shakespeare in the Park provides the perfect al fresco theater experience. Come early and have a picnic in the park.
River Rhapsody concert series continues on the Riverwalk
The cultural arts concert series continues at the Batavia Riverwalk during the months of July and August. The series will feature a variety of lively, eclectic musical acts showcasing a diverse range of tunes. Concert dates are July 13, 20, 27 and Aug. 3. The Holmstad hosts outdoor performances
The Holmstad retirement community is hosting a new Summer Concert Series. The world famous Glenn Miller Orchestra performs Wed., July 27 at 7pm. The orchestra faithfully creates the distinctive sound developed by Glenn Miller and plays many of the original Miller arrangements. Ann Stewart and the Banjo Buddies Dixieland Band perform Thurs., Aug. 18 at 7pm. Led by Diva of Dixieland Ann Stewart, the group plays everything from Dixieland jazz to swing, blues, big band, and novelty tunes. Space is limited. TheHolmstad.org or call 877-226-7310 to register.
The Batavia Arts Council’s Summer Polo Tournament fundraiser takes place July 17
Plan now to join the Batavia Arts Council for their 2016 Summer Polo Tournament fundraiser on Sun., July 17 from 12–4pm at the Blackberry Polo Field in Batavia. Bring the family for an afternoon of all American activities and polo. Break out your patriotic decor and menus, dress in red, white and blue and tailgate to the theme of Stars and Stripes. All revenue from the fundraiser is shared between the Batavia Arts Council and Shakespeare on Clark at the Centre. Naper Nights Community Concert Series continues through July and August
Naper Nights sets the stage for two more summer weekends in July and August. Bring a blanket or lawn chair and enjoy music under the stars on the beautiful grounds of Naper Settlement throughout the summer. No outside food or beverages are allowed. Food provided by Carrabba’s Italian Grill and beverages by Rodney Strong Vineyards and Bell’s Brewery. Gates are open from 5–10pm. Tickets are $15 adults and $10 youth (ages 4–12). NOARDA is hosting two more concerts at Riverfront Park this summer
The North Aurora River District Alliance (NOARDA) is hosting concerts in the park again this summer at Riverfront Park in North Aurora. The remaining concerts will be held from 6:30–8:30pm at Riverfront Park July 14 and Aug. 11. Raimondo’s Pizza and Pub will be selling slices of delicious pizza and cold drinks, or bring your own picnic basket. RiverPark Summer Concert Series features a variety of performances
Grab a lawn chair, blanket or even bring a picnic dinner to enjoy three free nights of entertainment along the Fox River during the RiverPark Summer Series. The 8th annual Summer Series will be held at 6pm Sundays, July 10, July 17 and July 24 at RiverPark, located at N, River Ln. and Peyton St. just north of State St. The programs, which will take place at the park’s stone amphitheater, are sponsored by the City of Geneva’s Cultural Arts Commission. All performances are free of charge, but donations to the Cultural Arts Commission are always welcome. In case of inclement weather, performances will be moved inside to the Fellowship Hall of the United Methodist Church of Geneva, 211 Hamilton St. genevarts.org

St. Charles Park District hosting summer concerts in Lincoln Park
The St. Charles Park District brings the summer Concerts in the Park series to St. Charles’ historic downtown for families and friends to enjoy the great outdoors and some fabulous music. The concerts take place Thursdays at 7pm through Aug. 18 at the Lincoln Park Gazebo.
Bring your family and friends for a picnic in the park. Settle in before the concert and enjoy picnic-style offerings at reasonable rates from downtown St. Charles restaurants and local vendors including Kimmer’s Ice Cream, Jersey Mikes, Batavia Diner 2 and Domino’s Pizza.
