Following a July through October display of Eat Your Art Out! 2016 Featured Art in the Herrington’s lobby, mouths will water pondering how Executive Chef Jeff Meyer will interpret this year’s collection… Art leading to food for thought will include four original pieces by fine and philanthropic artists Len Bielefeldt, Karen Bordenave, Fatima Figueiredo and Jan Schmuckal.
This unique and exclusive event will be held at the Herrington Inn & Spa’s historic Pump House, where following a salon style cocktail hour and fine silent auction, Chef Meyer will present an artistically inspired four course masterpiece dinner with wine pairings. The Featured Art pieces will be on display throughout the evening and sent home with the most generous bidder during a lively auction following the dinner, hosted by Geneva’s Mayor Kevin Burns. Opportunities for additional acquisitions abound, with hand crafted pottery by Mary Ann Diggory, a live art performance piece by Pamela Hamilton and a highly curated fine silent auction table.
Sensory treats will abound throughout the evening, from the first sip and bite to the last, as guests come together on one night to support the Geneva Cultural Arts Commission creating diverse artistic experiences for the community throughout the year. Annual programs include the Geneva Film Festival, Shakespeare in the Park, RiverPark Concert Series, Steeple Walk, Art on Fire, Bike+Rack=Art and Gimme Shelter. The Commission also proudly supports the Geneva Foundation for the Arts, Geneva History Museum, Greater Geneva Art Guild and Orion Ensemble Chamber Group in their artistic endeavors.
