Congratulations! Marmion math team wins Lemont invitational

The Marmion Academy Math Team competed against 21 other
high schools in the Lemont Invitational Math Contest on Wednesday, February 3.
Marmion took first place scoring 65 points more than the second place team and
113 points ahead of the third place team. Out of 22 total schools, Marmion won
6 of the 11 competitions.
First place finishes were earned by the Algebra 1 Team (freshmen James Michuda of Geneva, Michael Neff of Batavia, Jared Beltz of Aurora and Nathan Konen of Sugar Grove); the Pre-Calculus Team (seniors Jack Diederich of Aurora, Harrison Kearby of Aurora, AJ Rechenmacher of Batavia, Lucas McDonald of Batavia and Valen Piotrowski of Aurora); the Junior/Senior 8 Person Team (juniors Adam Danklefsen of Geneva, Chase Schaben of Plano, David Tennant of Aurora and Ryan Thornton of St. Charles and seniors Jack Diederich, Valen Piotrowski, AJ Rechenmacher and Benjamin Rydecki of Somonauk); the Calculator Team (seniors Harrison Kearby and Lucas McDonald, junior Ryan Thornton, sophomore Keith Mokry of Somonauk and freshman Michael Neff); the Junior/Senior Relay Team (seniors Valen Piotrowski and Jack Diederich and juniors David Tennant and Stephen Zimmer of Geneva); and the Junior/Senior 2 Person Team (senior Chase Schaben and junior Ryan Thornton).
The Marmion Math Team is coached by John Salomone, Carol Kinzer, Deb Wilkinson, Mike Meaden and Joe Large.
