The Viking Voyage to Excellence campaign for the Endowment Fund of the Geneva Academic Foundation (GAF) is celebrating its third annual contribution from Burgess-Norton Manufacturing Company, Geneva. Burgess-Norton was their ground-breaking corporate benefactor, providing them with their initial donation of $2,000 on November 22, 2013 for the Viking Voyage to Excellence Endowment Fund campaign, which kicked off in 2013. Subsequently, Burgess-Norton has continued to donate pledges of $2,000, each year, resulting in $6,000 in total donations to the GAF Endowment Fund, to date. These donations are made possible by Burgess-Norton’s parent company’s charitable foundation, known as the AMSTED Foundation, which focuses on education-related causes and groups, such as the Geneva Academic Foundation.
Rita Seiller, Vice President of Human Resources, Burgess-Norton, said, “Burgess-Norton is excited to announce its continued sponsorship of the Geneva Academic Foundation, made possible by a generous donation from the AMSTED Foundation. Burgess-Norton is proud to be part of a program that supports students and provides educational opportunities for years to come.”
The GAF’s Endowment fund was originally established in the 1990’s. In 2013, the Viking Voyage to Excellence campaign was kicked off to promote new donations for the GAF Endowment Fund and the GAF raised over $124,000 via this campaign in the first year alone.
