The Batavia High School Girls Volleyball program invited Girls Cross Country, Girls Tennis, Boys Basketball, Girls Soccer, and Girls Golf to join them in collecting items for the Batavia Interfaith Food Pantry.
In late July, the student athletes dropped off food collection bags on the front porches of 2,800 homes in Batavia. Community members filled the bags and then left them on their porches for pick up.
Approximately 90 volunteer student athletes worked the event as well as other food drives at the
French Market, in front of Batavia High School, at Summer Volleyball Camp, and more, during the month of July.
Together, BHS student athletes collected 3,866 items along with $450 in donations for Batavia
Interfaith Food Pantry. Thanks to all who helped achieve a record-setting goal this summer!
