Downtown St. Charles is an authentic urban experience that can’t be missed. Here, you can happily say goodbye to the all-too-familiar places and commonplace experiences and say hello to your unique, cosmopolitan self.

Located on the Fox River, Downtown St. Charles is anything but mainstream. It’s a lively urban oasis where old meets new, business meets pleasure and active outdoor spaces meet active indoor places. Whether you come to visit, work, play or live, your city side will be energized around every corner.

Downtown St. Charles is home to two theatres, boutique shopping, award winning events, and an endless array of dining options.

No matter how you define your city side, you can ignite it thoroughly in Downtown St. Charles. Your city side is your chic side and your savvy side. It lets you feel more connected and more energized. Morning, noon or night, in Downtown St. Charles there’s always something to engage and delight the city side of you.

Come check out the wonderful summer programs!

STC Live, a program created by the Downtown St. Charles Partnership, began during the summer of 2013. These mini events offer live, free entertainment on the First Street Plaza and at downtown businesses. Wednesday and Friday evenings, you can find anything from a jazz combo, vocalist, or band to a juggler or magician. The event continues through mid-September. Be sure to check the Downtown St. Charles Partnership website for updates and a listing of performers. #STCLive

Chair-ity is a downtown St. Charles outdoor, public art exhibition. The community was asked to use their imaginations to create works of art with Adirondack chairs as their canvases. Come check out over 100 chairs placed throughout downtown now through Labor Day. You can even bid on, and take home, your favorite chair. Check for more information. #STCchairity

Art Around the Corner matches local artists with downtown businesses through the month of June. Come downtown to see your favorite businesses and discover some wonderful local art. The art is available for purchase. (For more information, inquire at the individual venues.) For a listing of participating venues, visit
