Marmion leadership programs award top honors

Marmion Academy’s JROTC (Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps) program announced junior AJ Rechenmacher of Batavia as the Battalion Commander selected to lead the 2015-16 Cadet Corps. During the awards presentation at the ceremony, 24 cadets were honored for their superior work and dedication to the program: Rechenmacher was presented with his sabre as head of the next year’s Marmion JROTC Cadet Corps; Superior Cadet Decoration (US Army) - sophomore Kyle McCullough of St. Charles, and freshman Michael Ronzone of Batavia; Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War - senior Neil Peterson of Batavia; AMVETS ROTC Medal, Post #103 - seniors Sharbel Romanos of North Aurora and Colin Sheehan of Geneva;  VFW ROTC Medal, Post #7452 – senior Joseph Raucci of Batavia; US Marine Corps Distinguished Athlete Award - senior Luke Juriga of Batavia; Best Platoon, B Company, 1st Platoon - senior Connor Dunleavy of Geneva.
